Abstract:

This dataset compiles and systematizes detailed information on the defensive systems of Phoenician-Punic settlements located in the central and western Mediterranean, spanning a chronological arc from the 9th to the 2nd century BC. The catalogue integrates data from 34 archaeological sites. The records include structured variables organized into the following sections: site information, toponymy and entity, settlement layout, construction techniques, defensive structures, poliorcetics, and archaeological data. The catalogue is shared in CSV format and includes photographs in TIFF format. It is a valuable resource for researchers in the fields of archaeology, ancient history, and cultural heritage.
