Abstract:

Some years have passed since J. Miró published his book on the amphoras of the Tarraconense. Since then, new evidence has come to light that has changed our view of these Catalan Roman amphoras. This paper attempts to update our current knowledge of the use and distribution patterns of these vessels. New methodologies and quantified and accurately dated information (e.g. stamps and amphora shards) allow us to take a fresh look at the distribution of these amphoras in the west of the Roman Empire.
