Intervencions arqueològiques a l’assentament i necròpolis del Coll del Moro de Calar (Gandesa, Terra Alta): 2019 a 2021
Abstract:
The settlement of Coll del Moro is located in a strategic position for the control of the passageways between the lower course of the Ebro and Baix Aragó. Defended by the well-known tower that characterized it in the first moment of occupation, at the beginning of the Iron Age, the settlement will be equipped with a system of complex fortifications starting from the Iberian ple; already in the Roman-Republican period, the settlement was not abandoned but some of these elements were reinforced and given greater monumentality. The latest archaeological interventions make it possible to reinterpret the total surface and structural evolution of the Coll del Moro de Gandesa habitat, with important consequences on the historical process of the Iberian society in the area of the lower course of the Ebro.
