Abstract:

The Late Empire was a moment of economic decline for the Roman villa of Torre Llauder. The rooms of the pars urbana of this villa, paved with opus tessellatum mosaics, lost their social function for which they had been designed and they were converted into spaces dedicated to agricultural activities. A wine cellar with doliae was installed in one of them and a press (torcularium) was constructed in the next one.
