La musealización del Castellot de la Roca Roja de Benifallet (Baix Ebre, Tarragona): reflexiones para una valoración crítica
Abstract:
The interpretation of the archaeological site of El Castellot de la Roca Roja in 2009 consisted of a relatively simple intervention that can be divided into different aspects: the preservation of the documented structures, the securing of the complex, the improvement of the access road and the installation of informative museographic elements. Work on the structures consisted of the simple consolidation of the walls, as well as the laying of different coloured gravels in houses and streets to make the complex easier to understand and to hinder the growth of vegetation. The area was secured by installing a metal gate at the entrance and «crash barrier-type» steel cables. A footpath was also laid from the jetty at the foot of the archaeological site. Finally, the museographic elements were placed both inside and outside the settlement, opposite the wall, and even at the boat landing and along the path from it. They are interactive modules with information placing the archaeological site in its chronological and cultural context.
