Abstract:

This paper tries to analyze the evolution of animal husbandry practices in the Cerdanya valley during ancient times (3rd century BC – 3rd century AD). Despite the scarcity of the data available in this regard, the recent archaeological interventions on sites such as Castellot de Bolvir, Tossal de Baltarga in Bellver de Cerdanya or the Roman city of Llívia, have allowed to offer a first approach on how the Ceretan people managed the livestock resources and what importance these had within their society.
