Abstract:

The archaeological investigation carried in recent years at the archaeological site of Puig Ciutat revealed the violent destruction of this 5-hectare settlement at the end of the Roman Republic. Using the archaeological evidence and a time-lapse defined by the material culture, as well as the available historical data and sources, the authors aim to define the kind of military settlement it was and its potential links with the civil war between Caesar and Pompey, which appears to be the context of the site.
