Revisión de las monedas del vertedero tardoantiguo del Claustro de la Catedral de Tarragona (s. V d.C.)
Abstract:
In the present work, we have conducted a survey of the numismatic material found in the Late Antiquities dump located in the cloister of the Cathedral of Tarragona. All of the coins analyzed were recovered during the excavation of the cloister gardens in 1955 by the researcher José Sánchez Real and was published in 1969. The numismatic material found was the key for him to establish an estimated date for the stratigraphic sequence and their general context. This new interpretation, together with the review of the old and new material found -including ceramics- allows us to provide new chronostratigraphic data and context formation, as well as to present an interpretation of the monetary circulation of the Part Alta in ancient Tarraco during the 5th century AD.
