Abstract:
The piece under study belonged to a peculiar legged brazier of carved limestone, which was used to warm up and scent the rooms in one of the houses in the Medieval site named Alquería del Cortijo del Centeno, in Lorca. The interest in this piece lies in the carved decoration that consists of an epigraphic line, in which only the part joining two octagonal-shaped cartouches remains. One of them shows the inscription ‘the blessing’ in Kufic style, where typical characteristics of Almohad epigraphy can be seen.
