Una excepcional sepultura argárica de San Antón (Orihuela, Alicante)
Abstract:
The study of a Bronze Age grave from the Argaric site of San Antón (Orihuela, Alicante), excavated in the early years of the 20th century by the Jesuit priest Julio Furgús, is presented. It is one of the few graves described in detail by its excavator, and stands out for the exceptional nature of its grave goods. The study focuses on the objects preserved -some of which had been considered missing until now- and on the information published by Furgús. The data provided by the archaeological interventions carried out in recent decades in other Argaric settlements in Alicante, such as Tabayá and Laderas del Castillo, make it possible today to obtain a more precise image of this burial and to open up new perspectives for research into the Argaric group of the Lower Segura.
