L’arqueologia del vi a l’àrea costanera de la Tarraconense. Una reflexió
Abstract:
To evaluate the symposium, there is a discussion of the contributions within our current knowledge of the subject of wine production, focusing on the Tarraconense coast. The culture of wine in ancient times often has more in common with the present day than we think. We revise all the Roman sources with references to wine in the Catalan-speaking areas. Wine archaeology in this country still has a lot to learn from that of France. The study of wineries is expanding our knowledge of the production sites, periods (up to the late- Roman period) and technical details. Amphoras tell us how the product was traded, as well as about the chronology and extent of the wine business, which would have been started by Roman or Italic immigrants. investing in land outside Italy. The study of the ports rounds off our look at the trade.
